Kyra is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran whose love of the water and eye for design led her to launch Thresher Divers Surf Shop. After six years in paramilitary organizations and a degree in criminal justice, she realized her true passion lay in building community around freshwater surfing; creating wearable art for the ride.

Owning a surf shop was an “unobtainable dream” Kyra carried since her teenage years in Alton, NH.

From solar-sales offices to criminal-justice classrooms, Kyra explored every “practical” career path—only to find none fit her heart.
Turning Point
After a soul-cleansing trip to the Florida Keys, Kyra and her husband decided to make that dream a reality. In just four-and-a-half months, they built the brand, crafted her signature artwork, and prepared to open their doors.

Despite New Hampshire’s rainiest summer in years, they welcomed their first customers — and proved that perseverance (and a killer art-tee) can weather any storm.
